What Is 3D X-Ray Technology And What Does It Do?

3D x-ray technology is a vital part of dentistry. It allows us to capture 3D images of the mouth and skull. Unlike traditional x-rays that only provide 2D images of the mouth, 3D x-ray technology is less intrusive to patients, produces multiple images in less time, and allows your dentist to get a better perspective of your mouth and skull. The Orthophos XG3D system uses a rotating scanner to collect a three-dimensional mapping of the teeth and jaw.
